Description
Our family lives in a 3 bedroomed house in Kakamega, the western side of Kenya. During the holiday season (especially Christmas), the house is full to the brim, with all the siblings back at home, and constantly buzzing with stories. The rest of the year, however, it is generally quiet, with only two or three people present, since most of us leave for school, work or other things.
Located near the town centre, it is ideal for anyone who wants to experience the daily rural life at its best, as one has easy access to the flea market, nearby schools and a local stadium. For nature lovers, there is a chance to visit Kakamega Forest, the only rain forest in East Africa. The forest is famous for Colobus monkeys, baboon, various species of birds and the largest species of butterflies in Kenya. For reptile lover, there is a chance to visit the snake park located here s well.
